Il faut mettre l'auxiliaire BE au temps demandé (correspondant à celui de la voix active) + le participe passé du verbe

a- The immigrants were examined by two doctors.

b- Ill immigrants were sent to Ellis Island hospital by U.S. officers.

c- The immigrants who had undergone the two medical exams successfully were questioned by Registration clerks.

d- If they were exhausted,the immigrants were allowed to rest by U.S. officials .

e- Numbered identity tags were given to the immigrants by U.S. officials.
