Detectives have an amazing job. When a crime is committed, they INVESTIGATE : they interrogate suspects, look for clues … and eventually they ARREST the criminal.
How ? Well, in the past, they looked for clues with a MAGNIFYING GLASS, interrogated the suspect by shining a LAMP in his/her face and finally typed their REPORT on a TYPEWRITER
Nowadays, things are more modern, of course. They put rubber GLOVES on to look for DNA. And the REPORTS are typed on a COMPUTER.
