Ariana Grande (born June 26, 1993 in Boca Raton, Florida) is an American actress and singer-songwriter.
Ariana Grande launched her career in 2008, at the age of 15, playing the role of Charlotte in the 13th Broadway musical. She is notably known for having played the role of Cat Valentine in the sitcom Victorious (2010-2013), as well as for having reprized this same role in the sitcom Sam and Cat (2013-2014).
In March 2013, Ariana released her first single, The Way (featuring Mac Miller) which topped the Billboard Hot 100 and was certified double platinum by the RIAA. Her debut album, Yours Truly (2013) topped the Billboard 200 and received positive reviews. Her second album, My Everything (2014), also reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200, making her the first female artist to have had her first two number one albums in a row since Susan Boyle. The first single, Problem (featuring Iggy Azalea) ranked number two on the Billboard Hot 100 and was number one for iTunes downloads in over fifty countries.
In 2013, she won the award for best new artist of the year at the American Music Awards. In 2014, she was voted Newcomer of the Year by The Music Business Association and was nominated for Best New Artist at the Billboard Music Awards.
