Sally Ride was born on may 26, 1951 in Los Angeles, exactly in California.
Before her job, and when she was a little younger she studied physics at Stanford University. After that, she decided to work like a physicist and like an astronaut in NASA.
She was the first American woman to fly in space, she won the linderbergh eagle, the NCAA's Theodore Roosevel award and the NASA space flight Medal too.
Two elementary schools in the USA are named after her.
Then, she died in 2012.
