... tu n'as pas mis le texte. Il faut que tu retrouves dans le texte des "indices" du prétérit ( simple past ). C'est indices sont : yesterday, last week, in 1934, a long time ago ....
On met les verbes au simple past pour exprimer des actions:
-terminées
-datées
On ajoute -ed aux verbes réguliers
ou, pour les verbes irréguliers, on utilise une forme irrégulière . ( qu’il faut apprendre par coeur )

One day a grizzly bear attacked Smith along the Cheyenne River. Smith fought the bear but the animal opened his side with his claws and took Smith’s head into his mouth. Fortunately, the bear suddenly retreated and Smith’s companions ran to help him. They succeeded in saving him.
